Event: What can I do to raise awareness about overconsumption? April 23 2025
Online event, Wednesday April 23 at 4pm CET (5pm Athens, 3pm London).
On the occasion of Fashion Revolution Week 2025 – the theme of which is “Think Globally Act Locally” – and in collaboration with Fashion Revolution Greece, the VETRINE Project speaks with three major international activist groups about their latest campaigns and what we can do on a personal and collective level to raise awareness about the overconsumption that plagues the fashion industry. We then get input from two groups that act on a more local level to see how you can transfer global practise to a local context. Themes that are sure to come up include defashioning and degrowth, localisation and circularity.
This talk is presented in the context of the VETRINE Project, co-funded by the European Union EACEA Erasmus+. This project’s consortium has developed a free online course for vocational training of future sustainable textile technicians and fashion designers. Education and awareness go hand in hand with change, which starts with one person and extends to a community.
